Yaks Rhino Robot Eats Jerry

Obviously I have the greatest attention grabbing title of all time. To be fair, I'm not sure what I want to talk about here and I can't be bothered to continue working on making my blog look pretty or something. Okay, I lied a bit. I mean, I know that I want to talk about something that most of my friends will probably get annoyed at me for. I want to talk about my favorite character that I've created, Jerry.

So my friends find it annoying how stupid Jerry is, but I didn't try to make Jerry annoying. At least, that's not the way it started out. When I first started writing my short story for creative writing class, I wasn't thinking about writing about a character named Jerry. Back then I just wanted to create something to channel my...less than average thoughts through that could be seen as being quite annoying. I mean, maybe that's a sign that my friends think that I'm really annoying too, but whatever, everybody's entitled to their own opinions. Sorry, I'm getting off track though. Anyways, my character. I'm sure that most people would be shocked to learn that the my first story about Jerry took me hours to complete. Some people just looked at how long my story was and assumed that I spent around 30 minutes on it. Well I didn't, and it made me feel bad that people thought I didn't put effort into this assignment. Sure, I'm not the most creative person, but it wasn't like I just started to write about the first thing that came into my head.

Maybe I'm just a bit bitter about this and I shouldn't be. Maybe I deserve to feel angered that nobody took me seriously when I said I spent time crafting a...unique...character. Either way, I'm glad I stuck with Jerry. After my first story with Jerry, I had an easy time writing the more that included him. In a way, I feel that Jerry is essentially the part of me that doesn't need to act normally, the part that can say stupid stuff and not be judged as harshly. I mean, Jerry still gets judged harshly by whoever reads it that doesn't understand the pure genius behind it, but one day they will! I'll make sure of it!
